Mixed Media: collage, oil, cold wax on birchwood panel
24” x 24” x 1 1/2”
This is an abstracted image of the Peter Iredale, a rusted and decaying steel barque shipwrecked and abandoned in 1906 on the Oregon Coast.
The painting is heavily textured and layered. I used oil sticks and mica chips to create an iridescent effect (not visible in photos), which changes from different angles as the light plays on the surfaces.
