This is a semi-abstract depiction of the moss-covered maple trees on the river bank outside my studio on the Upper Sacramento River. I used a collage paper technique to highlight the deep colors and textures of the trunks. I wanted to emphasize the contrast of the cool blue negative spaces with the thick, rich colors of the foliage. I love these trees which are unique and marvelous every season of the year!
